The Steel Structure of a Residential Building
Špeta, Václav ; Barnat, Jan (referee) ; Štrba, Michal (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with a project of the steel structure of a residential building. The building is thought like sevenfloor balcony-access house. The access balcony is situated in atrium in the middle of the building, which is roofed with a shell dome. The regular hexagon creates a ground plan of each floor. Every floor is turned 30 degrees compared to the next floors. The longest cross dimension is 43 m (axial). The height of the building is 30,4 m (including copula envelope). The final structure is chosen on the basis of optimization of the structural variants. The climatic load angle structure falls into the locality of the town Brno. The vertical supporting structure is made from steel-concrete accoupled circular section columns. The floor structure is designed from the steel rolled section I and H. These support assembly of a horizontal structure. Some joists and girder are designed like accoupled with a concrete floor slab. The copula above atrium is made from glue laminated timber ribs. Infill rods are from steel tube. The top ring of copula is designed from the rolled section UPE.
Hangar
Matějková, Pavla ; Štrba, Michal (referee) ; Barnat, Jan (advisor)
Diploma thesis contains a design of steel load-bearing structure of a hangar placed in Brno-Medlánky. The ground dimensions are 40.0×44.0 m, the height of the building is 10.0 m. Two preliminary variants of the design solution were processed; main difference is the shape of the truss girder. Both variants were assessed for a combination of seventeen load cases. The comparison of the variants led to the selection of the final variant, which was assessed in detail. The girder truss in this variant is an arched truss, the height of the truss is 1.5 m, the individual elements are made of square hollow sections. A detailed static calculation was performed including the calculation of joints, drawing documentation and technical report. The main construction material is S235JR steel.
Multipurpose load-bearing timber hall structure
Matuška, Martin ; Sýkora, Karel (referee) ; Straka, Bohumil (advisor)
This Master’s thesis is focused on the design and structural analysis of load-bearing structure of a multipurpose hall that is strained by the permanent load, working load and climatic load. The hall has the shape of an elliptical dome. Maximum margin of the structure is 60,0m and maximum height is 18,0m. Main carrier elements of the structure are radially arranged curved beams made of glued laminated timber, class SA(GL24).
Shopping Gallery
Žák, Ondřej ; Hron, Lukáš (referee) ; Pilgr, Milan (advisor)
Master's thesis addresses the design and assessment of the load bearing structure of the shopping gallery. The building is designed as a three-storey rectangular plan with a flat roof. The structure is composed of steel frames and composite steel and concrete slabs. There are proposed two possible solutions - variant with a flat roof and direct central gallery, a reinforced rigid steel frames and a variant with a cupola roofed circular inner atrium, solidified with rods.
The exhibition hall in Olomouc
Ćmiel, Jiří ; Buchta, Stanislav (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
Master's thesis includes designing of exhibition pavilon on a circular platform with a diameter of 35m. The pavilon is designed as a schwedler circular dome. The construction is designed as a ball and is made of tubes. Pavilon includes designing of floors and stairs bearing system that is also made of steel.
Exhibition Pavilion
Shánělová, Lenka ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Bajer, Miroslav (advisor)
The Master´s thesis contains design of steel construction of exhibition pavilion, which is consists of columns, dome, lantern and suspension footbridge. Building will be intended for organizing exhibitions and conferences by town Trutnov. Two models of variants of dome´s construction are drafted in this work– Schwedler´s and Föpple´s dome. Models are space tubular structures. The work contains static assessment of spatial structures and spherical steel joint in program SCIA Engineer for both variants. Hand assessment of bars, basic details and anchoring, technical report and drawing dokumentation are drafted for selected variant construction with Schwedler´s dome.
The experimental family house
Švorcová, Barbora ; Buchta, Stanislav (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of an experimental residential house. The proposed structure has the form of a free-standing dome, which covers a building located inside. The area around the building under the dome creates space for an unconventional winter garden. The construction of the roof was designed and assessed in terms of geometry in two variants, in the shape of a geodesic and ribbed dome, with diameter 24 m and height 12 m. The considered material of the ribbed dome is glued laminated timber. In addition to the wooden one, the geodesic dome was also designed in a steel variant. Within the bachelor‘s thesis, the structural load, limit states and design of the main joints were dealt with. The house under the dome was considered in the form of a study of possible designs. In addition to the traditional light-frame construction, a structure made of panels of cross-laminated timber was also assessed.
The botanical pavillion in Jihlava
Kuchtová, Ludmila ; Buchta, Stanislav (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design a load-bearing structure of the botanical pavillion in Jihlava. The construction is designed as a variable structure of both steel and timber. Each solution has a different type of ribs. The layout is a hexadecagon with maximum dimension of 30 meters. The height of the building is considered to be 10 meters.
Load bearing structure of an exhibition pavilion
Gábor, Lukáš ; Bajer, Miroslav (referee) ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis contents design of steel construction exhibition pavilion in the shape of a dome with plan diameter of 36 meters and height of 12.67 meters. The pavilion is designed for the Brno site. The main load bearing structure consists of spatial construction dome made of tubes connected on spherical steel joints. Design was based on the shape of Schwedler’s dome. In the static calculation there are designed and assessed all bars of spatial structure. Also pin bearing, base plate and connection on spherical steel joints were designed and assessed. The thesis includes design documentation which consists of composed overview drawing and drawing of selected details as well.
Exhibition pavilion
Řeháček, Jakub ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and review of the supporting structure of the exhibition pavilion in the suburb of Brno. The design is shaped dome built over the octagonal floor plan with eight lateral niches. The pavilion is 30m wide and 8 meters tall.
